People often neglect to consider that memorial services are never cheap. In addition to this, people tend to ignore topics that concern death as this is considered morbid and people are always uncomfortable about death. The lack of preparation for these certainties in life has left bereaved families who are underprivileged, with difficulties in providing decent memorial services for their loved ones who pass away. Breaking down the cost of memorial services, the biggest expense is the cost of the casket.
Today, providing decent funeral services is made more possible as St. Peter Chapels launched another one of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programs – The St. Peter Chapels Casket Donation. Subject to availability at any St. Peter Chapels nationwide, Casket Donations are being given to assist very poor families who could not afford to purchase a casket.
As people at St. Peter Chapels value God-Centeredness, caskets which are discarded and surrendered by privileged families who purchase a full memorial service but opt for a cremation, were refurbished but not for re-selling. Depending on availability, these caskets in turn, are provided for poor families who ask for assistance at any of our Chapels.
Once underprivileged beneficiary families are able to avail of donated caskets, such families will find it less burdensome to raise money for the other lesser costs of other memorial service arrangements like embalming, viewing and transportation.
Truly, helping our fellow Filipinos – in times of need – is the very heart and soul, the very meaning of Corporate Social Responsibility of our St. Peter Chapels.
