LIVE THE DREAM THRU FMBFI SCHOLARSHIP

In this day and age where securing good quality education is financially difficult and strenuous especially for those below the poverty line, it is always great news to know that there are concerned organizations such as the St. Peter Group of Companies (SPG) which provides an educational scholarship grant thru the Francisco M. Bautista Foundation, Inc. (FMBFI). The FMBFI leads Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of St. Peter Life Plan and Chapels in providing academic college scholarship to qualified Filipino students. Founded in 1996, FMBFI currently has 552 scholars and 374 graduates under the program. To date, 32 scholars graduated last year. This current school year’s scholars was awarded their scholarship certification last May 3, 2019 during the Recognition of the Graduating FMBFI Scholars.

Graduating senior high school students from public schools of Quezon City and graduating senior high school children of the employees of the St. Peter Group of Companies are eligible to apply for college scholarship under the program. Interested students just need to submit the following requirements: 1.) Application Form (FMBFI Form 1); 2.) Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate; 3.) Photocopy of NSAT Rating; 4.) Certification of Honors received and/or that the student belongs to the top 5% of the graduating class by the School Principal; 5.) Form 138 B 6.) Certificate of Admission from the University of preference (if available); 7.) Certificate of good moral character from the High School  Principal/Guidance Counselor; 8.) Copy of the ITR of the parents; and 9.) Barangay Certification of Residence. Upon submission of these requirements, students must pass the FMBFI qualifying examination and interview conducted by the FMBFI Alumni Association.

Online registration of applicants began in December 2018 and ended in January 2019. The qualifying exam was done in February 2019, and the results were posted within the same month. Those who passed the exam underwent interviews by FMBFI Alumni before making it to the final list of FMBFI scholars for the year. The grantees were also required to attend a Life in the Spirit Seminar before the awarding of their scholarships.

Each scholar will be given Ten Thousand Pesos (P10, 000.00) per semester which they may use to pay for tuition and other school expenses. The scholarship is valid only throughout the duration of the degree program of the student and scholars are required to maintain a general grade average of 2.0 per semester, or its equivalent. Failure to maintain the required grade average will exclude the scholar from receiving scholarship privileges for the succeeding semester.
