The 18th Pre-Need Consciousness Week Celebration
The Philippine Federation of Pre-Need Plan Companies, Inc. (PFPPCI) celebrated its 18th Pre-Need Consciousness Week last February 1 to 7, 2019. Aptly themed, “Pre-Need: Matatag, May Puso, Maaasahan”, the celebration aims to strengthen the unity among Pre-Need companies and to promote the importance of having a Pre-Need plan for the peace of mind of Filipino families at the time of need. It highlights the stability and reliability of each Pre-Need company in ensuring that the promised services are provided to every Filipino - from individuals, families, and communities.
To kick off the year’s celebration, a Thanksgiving Mass was held last February 1 at Sto. Niño de Paz Chapel in Greenbelt, Makati City. The mass was attended by Officers and Members of PFPPCI, namely: Federation President Elmer Lorica from Himlayang Pilipino Plans, Inc.; Mr.Jaime Dizon from Philplans, Inc.;Ms. Elizabeth Tan of Ayala Plans, Inc.; Ms. Marie Patana of First Union Plans; and, Ms. Jebeth Zardilla, Ms. Lily Umali, and Mr. Jonard Gutierrez from St. Peter Life Plan, Inc.
It was followed by the Annual Bowling Tournament which was held last February 6 at the SM Megamall Bowling Center in Ortigas, Quezon City. The ceremonial throw was bowled by Federation President Elmer Lorica, PFPPCI Director Marius Guingon of St. Peter Life Plan, and Atty. JM Tolentino of the Insurance Commission. A new Champion was hailed. Insurance Commission Team A who won 1st Place last year championed the tournament this year while St. Peter Life Plan Team A and St. Peter Life Plan Team B won 1st place and 2nd place, respectively.
In culmination of the 18th Pre-Need Consciousness Week celebration, a forum was held at the Makati Shangri-La, Parañaque Ballroom last Febuary 7. The event was graced by Insurance Commissioner Honorable Atty. Dennis B. Funa who was also the Keynote Speaker. Atty. Funa mentioned in his speech that Pre-Need Companies are like the Avengers - superheroes with distinct characteristics in handling problems, challenges, and battles that they face. He emphasized that, as Pre-Need companies we should always practice being Matatag, May Puso, and Maaasahan as it helps promoting Pre-Need plans to every target market. He also mentioned that we must embrace diversity as it opens limitless possibilities for every organization as well as for the entire Pre-Need Industry.
The annual celebration of the Pre-Need Consciousness Week remains as a constant reminder to all Pre-Need companies that they play a vital role in promoting awareness to every Filipino that Pre-Need plans, whether education, pension, or memorial plans, are essential in providing the future needs of Filipino families.
